A one-person studio, and the reason that matters

The short version

I design and build websites for small businesses, and I run the SEO that makes them findable afterwards. Most of my clients are clinics, hospitals and owner-run businesses — people for whom the website is not a brand exercise but the thing that decides whether the phone rings.

Fifteen years of that has been spent in software and on the web, which mostly means I have seen every way a website can quietly fail: the one that looks beautiful and loads in nine seconds, the one that ranks for the company name and nothing else, the one nobody can edit because the person who built it stopped replying.

Why a studio of one

Agencies solve a scale problem, and scale has a cost that gets passed to you. The brief goes to an account manager, the design to a junior, the code to whoever is free, and the SEO to a template. Nobody in the chain is accountable for whether the finished thing actually works, and the cost of all those handoffs sits in the invoice.

Working alone removes the handoffs. It also removes any ability to hide — if the site is slow, that is mine; if it does not rank, that is mine too. That accountability is the product. It is also why the service list stops at six things instead of twenty: I only offer what I can do properly myself.

How I actually work

• Everything is coded from scratch. No page builders, no bloated themes, no plugin stack that breaks on its own six months later.
• Mobile is the real design, not the afterthought. Almost all Indian traffic is a mid-range phone on mobile data, so that is what gets tested first.
• SEO goes in at build time. Structure, speed, metadata and schema are part of the build, not a service sold back to you afterwards.
• You own everything at launch. Domain, hosting, analytics, Search Console — every login is handed over. There is no lock-in and nothing held hostage.
• You talk to me on WhatsApp. Not a ticket system. Usually the same day.

What I will tell you honestly

Some of the enquiries I get do not need a website. A business with no reviews, no Google Business Profile and no photos usually gets more return from fixing those first — and I will say so, even though it is the smaller job. A site built on top of nothing just becomes a nicer-looking way to be invisible.

I will also not promise a ranking position or a date for one. Anyone who does is either guessing or describing a search engine that does not exist. What I will give you is a straight read on what is wrong, what it takes to fix, and roughly how long before it shows.

About the name

DivX Web Studio is a web design and SEO studio in Chennai, India. It is not connected to the DivX video codec, any media player, or any streaming or video brand that shares part of the name. The similarity is a coincidence of three letters and nothing more.

It gets mentioned here because search engines occasionally confuse the two, and because a fair number of people land on this site looking for something entirely unrelated. If you were after a video codec, you are in the wrong place. If you need a website built for a business in Chennai or anywhere else in India, you are in exactly the right one.

Where I work from

The studio is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and a good share of the work is local — Perambur, Anna Nagar, T. Nagar, Velachery, Adyar, Porur, Ramavaram, OMR and Tambaram. Being local genuinely matters for one thing: map-pack and “near me” ranking depends on signals tied to a real address and service area.

For everything else, location has never decided whether a project goes well. Clients sit across Tamil Nadu, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi and Pune, and the process is identical — WhatsApp, calls, and a live link you can watch the build on.
