Websites for clinics, hospitals and therapy practices

Three of the four sites running in production are medical or clinical — an eye hospital, a post-graduate optometry institute and a vision therapy practice across two cities. This is the work I know best.

Three things clinic sites usually get wrong

Booking is buried. A patient who needs three taps to reach an appointment mostly leaves. The action a worried person came to take should be visible from wherever they land, not parked on a contact page.

Specialties are one long paragraph. Cataract, LASIK, glaucoma, retina and paediatric care are five separate things people search for separately. Compressed into a single "Services" block, they are one page competing against five specialist pages, and it loses.

Built for a desktop nobody is using. Patients look up clinics on a phone, often on mobile data, often in a hurry. A site that assumes a large screen and a fast connection fails exactly when it matters.

Writing for a worried reader

Someone researching a treatment for their child is not in a browsing mood. They want to know whether you treat their problem, whether you have done it before, and how quickly they can be seen.

That changes the writing. Clinical terms get explained in plain language without being condescending. The conditions you treat are named the way patients name them, not only the way the literature does — someone searching "lazy eye" and someone searching "amblyopia" are the same person at different stages of understanding, and the page should meet both.

Caring Vision Therapy was built exactly around this problem: explaining neuro-optometric rehabilitation, convergence insufficiency and learning-related vision problems to parents who have usually just been told something worrying and have questions nobody has answered yet.

Structure that matches how patients search

Each specialty gets its own page with its own heading, description and booking path. That is not padding — it is the only way a specialty page can rank for its own term. Aadithya Eye Care, an eye hospital in Perambur online since 1999, is structured so every specialty sits one tap from a booking.

For training and education, the same logic applies to programmes. Vision Therapy Institute runs post-graduate training in binocular vision and neuro-optometric rehabilitation for optometrists across India and abroad; its pages are built so an applicant can compare residency, fellowship and observership at a glance rather than reading three pages and holding it all in their head.

Local search matters more here than almost anywhere

"Eye hospital near me" and "vision therapy in Chennai" are proximity-driven searches, which means the map results decide most of it. For a clinic, Google Business Profile work is not an add-on to the website — it is at least half the job, and often the half that produces the phone calls.

One thing I will not do

No invented outcome statistics, no fabricated patient testimonials, no success-rate claims that cannot be supported. Beyond being wrong, medical claims you cannot substantiate are a liability for the practice and a trust problem the moment a patient checks. Everything on the page comes from you or does not go on the page.

What you get

  • A separate page per specialty or programme, each able to rank on its own
  • Booking or enquiry reachable in one tap from anywhere on the site
  • Plain-language explanations of clinical terms, written for patients
  • Mobile-first build tested on real phones and mobile data
  • Doctor and practitioner profiles that build credibility
  • Local SEO and Google Business Profile alignment for "near me" searches
  • Structured data so specialties and locations are legible to Google

Common questions

Have you built clinic websites before?

Yes — three of the four sites currently in production are medical or clinical: Aadithya Eye Care, Vision Therapy Institute and Caring Vision Therapy, across Chennai and Hyderabad.

Can patients book appointments through the site?

Yes. Booking or enquiry paths are built in and kept within one tap from any specialty page, since that is the action most patients arrive to take.

Do you write the medical content?

The structure and the plain-language patient-facing copy, yes. Anything clinical comes from you and is reviewed by you. No treatment claims or outcome statistics are invented.
