Privacy policy

The short version

This website has no database, no accounts and no server that receives form submissions. The enquiry form does not send anything anywhere: it assembles your answers into a WhatsApp message and opens WhatsApp so you can read it and decide whether to send it. Until you press send in WhatsApp, nothing has left your device.

The only data collected automatically is anonymous usage analytics, described below.

Who is responsible

DivX Web Studio, an independent web design and SEO studio based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, is the data fiduciary for this website. Contact details are on the contact page, and questions about this policy can go to the same WhatsApp number as everything else.

What is collected

Three things, and nothing else:

• Analytics. Google Analytics 4 records anonymous usage: pages viewed, roughly where in the world the visit came from, the type of device, and how visitors arrived. It sets first-party cookies. IP addresses are anonymised by Google before storage. This is not used to identify anyone.
• Server logs. The host, Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps, keeps standard access logs including IP address and user agent, as any web server does. These are retained by the host and used for security and diagnostics.
• Browser storage. Two flags are stored in your own browser so the site does not repeat itself: one recording that you have seen the intro this session, one recording that you have seen or used the enquiry prompt. They never leave your device and are not readable by the studio.

What you send deliberately

If you message on WhatsApp, call, email or send an enquiry, the studio receives whatever you chose to include: usually a name, a number, and a description of your business. That is used to reply to you, quote the work and deliver it. Nothing else.

Enquiry details are kept only as long as needed to respond and, where the work goes ahead, for the normal life of a client record. Nothing is sold, rented or shared for marketing, and there is no mailing list to be added to.

Third parties

Google Analytics is the only third-party script that runs on this site. Fonts are served from this domain rather than from Google, so no request is made to a Google font server when you load a page. There are no advertising pixels, no social trackers, no session recorders and no chat widgets.

Links out to WhatsApp, Instagram and Google Maps take you to those services, where the relevant company’s own privacy policy applies rather than this one.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask what personal data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be erased, and withdraw consent you previously gave. Send the request on WhatsApp or by email and it will be actioned.

Analytics can be refused at source: browser Do Not Track and tracking-protection settings, an ad or script blocker, or Google’s own opt-out browser add-on all prevent it from running. The site works normally without it.

Children

This site is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children. No data is knowingly collected from anyone under 18.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be obvious rather than buried in a diff.
